The Power

The 2021 Gladiator will still come with the capable 3.6-liter V-6 gas engine that puts out 285 horsepower. Jeep’s six-speed manual transmission comes standard, with an eight-speed automatic available. The new engine is a 3.0-liter diesel V-6 that generates 260 horsepower and gets 442 pound-feet of torque. This engine works only with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

When equipped, the 2021 Gladiator can tow between 4,000 to 7,650 pounds. The max towing capabilities come with the gas V-6 engine.

Tackle Any Terrain in the Rubicon

Any of the Gladiator models can handle rough terrain, but the Rubicon has equipment that makes it even more capable. This model has Jeep’s Trail Rated badge, meaning it can tackle the toughest off-road terrain. The Gladiator is the only available Trail Rated pickup truck on the market.

Jeep’s 4X4 systems will send power to the tires that need it to get the most traction, whether it’s to get over rocky terrain or keep traction on slippery roads. it comes standard with front and rear Tru-Lock Electronic Locking Differentials, and an upgrade for 2021 allows the driver to lock the rear axle in 4HI mode when driving at higher speeds. The Rubicon also has fenders with increased clearance, rock rails and skid plates, and a special two-speed transfer case.

The New Mojave Trim

Jeep now offers the Gladiator in the new Mohave Trim. It’s designed for off-road driving at higher speeds and excels in deep sand and dry environments. Instead of the Trail Rated badge it has Jeep’s Desert Rated badge. It has a reinforced frame and axles, an upgraded suspension with a 1-inch lift, and cast iron steering knuckles. The desert-tuned suspension easily takes on undulating sandy terrain, staying in control and providing the ultimate comfort. The Mohave also comes with exclusive FOX front hydraulic jounce shocks. These specialized shocks have a 2.5-inch internal bypass with external reservoirs.

The Mohave comes with a unique off-road four-wheel-drive system that automatically adjusts the throttle and transmission for better control when driving at high speeds on rough terrain. An optional step sand-slider protects the frame from dirt and rocks, while the 17-inch wheels and 33-inch all-terrain tires take you over any surface.

The Road Ready Overland

If you like to stay on the road, the Overland has a more upscale cabin with power windows, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and automatic climate control. Leather upholstery is optional for this trim.
